The compass brings those who travel safely home again. A compass works to define and steer one to their chosen destination. I chose this symbol to reflect the inner journey we all hopefully take to a rich and deep understanding of this world, and to chart the future of making a meaningful life with whatever we have to work with.
"My jewelry is an expression of the connection that we all share throughout time and cultures and beliefs."

Everything is going somewhere. Some things are just too slow for us to notice. Patinas beautifully demonstrate what happens when sub-atomic particles are re-arranged. The surface changes how it reflects light which is how we perceive color.
Quantum Physics is showing us more about the world and our part in it as we advance to better measure and interpret this field. The smallest measurable unit of length is the Planck-Length.
They still don't know how small the smallest particle is, yet.
We are composed of all of it.
There have been recent studies that have proven that memories are stored in our RNA. Even ancestral ones.
You are a beautifully engineered bit of recycled star dust.
It is no accident that we are connecting here in a co-creating process of making wonderful things happen.
I have to ask myself why when I first sat down to make a piece of jewelry with the intent of it hosting a semi-precious stone, it brought on a feeling of finally "Coming Home." All of my inner thoughts chorused "About time child, about time!"
This work flows from me in ways that soundly defy what my "time on the wheel of making jewelry" ought to yield. I have done other forms of art all of my life and not even come close to this experience.
So Why?
Perhaps the answer is in my RNA.

There are no enamels, paints or dyes on this jewelry save an environmentally friendly clear coat.
With over 20 years of fine tuning in play here, I recreate these patinas so closely each time that you can ask for your favorite color by name! However, each piece has its own unique patterning so no two will ever be the same. My jewelry pieces are built simply, with certain minor flaws of the handwork left intact, with an eye to their use of the more primitive metalworking
methods that were traditionally used in times past.
The main focus of my concept is the patina. The designs are meant to be a metal canvas, showcasing the beauty of these exquisite patinas.
Chains and earring wires are nickel, cadmium and lead free, hypo-allergenic, and made in U.S.A. All are carefully selected to complement each piece.

About the necklace chains:
They are all antique. Dating back to the 1910’s-1940’s made here in America by world prominent jewelry manufacturers like Triffari, Swarofski, and Monet. These companies stopped making chain and other jewelry items when WWII broke out and turned to supporting the war effort, making things like ball bearings and other hardware items for airplanes and ships. As China came up in trade and demand and styles changed, in the mid-1990’s the last of these once world dominant companies closed forever. I take great pride in offering this part of American history as part of our jewelry line. Chains are selected to best complement the individual piece and will vary. If you need a longer or shorter chain, PLEASE let me know!! Some of the chains are not able to be altered please look at notes as to whether I can accommodate requests for that particular piece.
16 inches is a choker length. 18 inches sets at collarbone. 20 rests inches a few inches below collarbone. 22 inches sits at or above neckline. 24 inches falls below the neckline and just above the clavicle. We send 22" as the default.
